The recipe – step by step

1. Present the kolanuts whole on a plate – ceremony first.
2. Wash and break kola into lobes; distribute to elders and guests in order.
3. Arrange chin chin in one bowl, crisps in another.
4. Scatter roasted peanuts across the table.
5. Let conversation flow – kola breaks the ice, tradition says.
